Under the California Sun

I'm not even sure where to start, but all I know is playing in the sand and waves in California was absolutely perfect. It was exactly what I needed to cool off, relax and just have fun! There are not many things better than watching Chase jump the waves with his little cousins while they screamed and laughed. I will never forget that very moment, watching him with a smile on my face just thinking about how excited I am to one day bring our own little tykes to the beach. I cant wait for the day.

I think is is safe to say that everyone had a great time at the beach. We got to layout, squish our toes in the sand, catch baby crabs, body surf, play botchy ball and just have a good ol' time under the warm sun. I am so grateful for all our fun memories at Crystal Cove!

We Had a "Fairly" Good Time.

This is a little late, but a couple weekends ago, Chase and I went to the
Utah State Fair!
I always look forward to this lovely event. It is a treat listening to a live band, riding spiny rides, eating funnel cake & kettle corn, petting unusual animals and of coarse trying the newest deep fried delicacy.

This year Chase ate FRIED JELLO. Yep, FRIED! He said it tasted like "lime kalamari!"haha To say the least, we had a complete blast with all our friends.  Next year, I plan on bringing just one thing; A comfy chair. Then I could kick back and enjoy the unique crowd that the fair brings in. Man, do I love to people watch at those things.

"FAIR"well till' next year!

Its True, I Miss You.

Dear blog,
I never thought I would miss you...but its true, I do! Please forgive Chase and I for being MIA these last couple weeks. We have been busy playing "catch up" in school because of a trip we took to Cali (to surprise Grandma Hansen). I have SO much to tell you. But, until Im done studying for my tests this week, you wont be seeing much of me. Chase and I will be busy with our nose in books and sending each other silly pictures to get through the long days apart.
Please forgive me.

Sincerely, Ashley

Some Things NEVER Change.

I was laughing my head off, while I was putting these old pictures together. I just couldn't help but share! From the stories I have been told, Chase seems like such a hilarious little boy.  It cracks me up because he is the same person to this day. I died when I came across this picture right below. Take a close look at his little lips... see that puckering business? You bet he still does that little concentration face! Ah, Now I love it that much more.
I wish I didn't hate soccer as a little lad. I mean come on! The soccer outfits were adorable!
(Looking "cute" was all I cared about at the time.)

Like I said... Some things NEVER change.

His Eternal Love.

I don't mean to get too deep but, I stumbled across this picture and it truly touched my heart(I actually stared at it until I was balling). It is a perfect description of his love for every single one of his children. I know with all my heart that he is real. He is always on the other side listening and showing his constant love.
We live in a time where the world is turning upside down. However, he is the light and the love that makes this world go around. I am grateful for his caring and forgiving heart towards me. I know I can always count on him to understand EXACTLY how I feel. I cannot wait for the day that I get to be wrapped up in his sweet arms.

Thank you for being my absolute and eternal best friend.

Little Shmittle.

This post is a little late but last weekend, we all got to celebrate these cuties turning 7 and 9.
Happy Birthday Ruby & Ella!!
Hanging out with these two brings back memories of being little. I used to get so excited for my birthday that I could hardly sleep! I owe this all to my darling mother. She was so good at making us feel special on our birthday. We would wake up in the morning and our whole house would be completely decorated. AND breakfast was only served in bed.
Chase is going to be THE cutest dad one day. (Cant wait)
This was also the last day we got to see Landon before he left on his LDS mission to Brazil. It was a sad day for Morgie...and our family! We all love Landon. But, we are also so excited for him to serve the Brazilian people.

Mona Rope Swing

I am very grateful for yesterday. I needed the time to stop stressing about the fact that my "to do" list will most-likely, never get done. Yesterday was a perfect 83 degree, September day. I mean, I got to spend time at a gorgeous lake with my lover and our best friends! Chase and I really love Bryan and Marykate. We could probably hang out with them every.single.day. Chase and Bryan have been best friends for a couple years and he married Marykate almost a year ago. Marykate and I have become the best of friends! I love that girl. All four of us together make the perfect quad. We spend the rest of the evening at my absolute fav place, The Happy Sumo. Yum.

I learned 4 things today:
1. The Mona Rope Swing is a summer MUST DO. I am sad that all my past summers have been missing out.
2. Remember: stay and watch people on the rope swing, because there are some pretty hilarious sounds people make mid air.
3. If you know you love a certain sushi roll, do NOT try a new one because you will always be disappointed. Annnd the Vegas roll will probably miss you just as much as you missed it.
4. Chase really is the boy I always dreamed of marrying. He is perfect! Inside and out. (But, i already knew that.)
